Gruffalo PE

This week we have been learning about ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson.

The children have enjoyed retelling the story and discussing some of the new vocabulary such as ‘roasted’ and ‘terrible’.

In PE we thought about the movements of the animals involved in the story: we slithered on our tummies to represent the snake, tucking in our arms; we were very sly foxes, hunting and waving our bushy tails; we were silently swooping owls, reminding ourselves of the movements we discussed from our ‘Owl Babies’ prior learning; we made our bodies big to represent the Gruffalo, utilising our straddle position, moving slowly.
