The Gingerbread man

The children have enjoyed reading and discussing this classic story. This week we have been investigating alternative endings for the story to save our hero from the jaws of the greedy fox. Our ideas included building a bridge and making boats.

We observed what happened to our gingerbread man when he was immersed in water, we saw that he expanded, his colour changed and he disintegrated when we tried to pick him up. So we made boats on our creative table and tested them to see if they would float. We looked at the different materials and investigate those that float and sink.
