Teddy Bear’s Picnic
On Wednesday afternoon, as part of our history topic, Year 1 had a teddy bear’s picnic. We looked at bears old and new and discussed similarities and differences.
3D paper sculptures
We have been having great fun making 3D paper sculptures from rolling paper and designing and making our sculpture. The children will be bringing these homes to take pride of place in their bedroom.
Moving pictures

Design and Technology
This week we have made wheel mechanisms in DT. The children have created their own superhero with a wheel that they can turn to express 4 different emotions. Well done Penguins!
Weighing
In Penguins we have been weighing classroom items and identifying their mass. The children have really enjoyed it and were able to estimate the mass before weighing. Well done Penguin class!
Remembrance Day
Today in year 1, we have been talking about Remembrance Day. In class, we observed the minutes silence at 11am and we also created our own poppies.
Aston Hall
We have begun our unit of learning all about the historical significance of Aston Hall. It would be great to ask your child about the first person who lived in the Hall- Sir Thomas Holte. A great week of learning! Well done Penguins!
