Composition of 5.

This week we have been exploring the different ways to make 5. As a class we told a story using visual prompts about how many frogs were in a pond, and how many have jumped out. We used story telling to look at ‘part, part’ and ‘whole’ to explore how to make 5 in different ways. We then used red and yellow counters to show this on a 5 five frame. Together we counted red counters to show how many frogs were in the pond, and yellow counters to show how many were out the pond, and counted altogether to make 5.

We have also been exploring and celebrating World Children’s Day, Children in Need AND our OUTRIGHT campaigns. We have been discussing important topics such as recycling, and using materials to create junk models!
