Owl Babies by Martin Waddell

The book we are looking at this week is called ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. We have been listening and joining in with the story, and we have been learning some facts about Owls: they are nocturnal (they come out to hunt at night and sleep during the day); they are hunters/predators/carnivores; they lay eggs.

The children made a nest for the owl family using natural resources, such as twigs and leaves, they talked about owls habitats and how they need to protect themselves from predators.
.
Was it a good habitat? Would it keep the owl family safe?

The children worked together to retell the story.

If you want to watch Owl Babies story together there is a lovely version of it online at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPQRiSTYFHo
